Chicago Hash House Harriers

Welcome to chicagohash.org, home of the Chicago Hash House Harriers. Here you will find everything you need to take part in the Chicago chapter of the world’s largest “drinking club with a running problem.” We meet every week of the year to run a 3 to 5 mile trail through the great city of Chicago’s streets, alleys, parks, and forest preserves. Afterwards we conduct an entertaining ceremony known as “the circle” where we enjoy cold beer and some good laughs.

We’re a very social group. Our members come from all walks of life, all age groups (21+) and all abilities of running from slow to fast. Our one and only goal is to have fun!

Chicago Marathon CH3 Beer Stop

Chicago Hash House Harriers – Our beer stop for the marathon racists

Venue: At the corner, or slightly north of 31st St. & Indiana Ave.

What is this?:  We hand out small cups of beer to runners in the Chicago Marathon.

How do I get there?:  Green line to 35th-Bronzeville-ITT, Red line to Sox 35th, or Rock Island District Metra if you’re feeling freaky.

What do I bring?: Bring a case of cheap beer and some small (~5 oz.) paper cups. Some ice would be useful as well.

What do I do afterwards?: Our regular CH3 hash run will begin at 2 o’clock at TBD

Information from the organizer:

Chicago Marathon Beer Stop: Sunday, Oct 12, 2025. This is close to the Green Line 35th St stop.

Get up early and support all the marathon runners by handing out BEER! There will be a hash afterward so that you can earn your beer too.
Horn-E claims to have rigorously scouted this spot, so let’s see whether the old man’s still got it. Stay tuned to the event in case we move locations.
Hare a trail that’ll make the marathoners jealous! Step up and be the chaos you wish to see in the world.
Bring a case of cheap beer and some small (~5 oz.) paper cups. Some ice would be useful as well. Parking and shops abound.

Event:  Labor Day Hashsassin Trail and Brain Health Bar Crawl amd Hab Bazzar
From the hares: How many more themes can we fit into one trail? Let’s be sneaky, and silly, some pub crawl energy and raise money for brain health! We’re putting together another Hashsassin style trail, if you weren’t with us last year, it’s a choose your own adventure style trail. Three hares will provide three different trails that all lead to the next bar, trails will cross, feel free to mix it up. The chaos ensues because everyone is a target and is searching for their target. New targets are assigned at each bar. Prelube and circle beer will be provided. You are responsible for your bar/beer check beer but we’re gonna call ahead and try to get sweet deals. Silly hats are encouraged! Dress up your cranium in honor of brain health, we’re turning this into a dress run for BrainUp, a brain cancer organization. The more hashers that turn out for this silly adventure assasin trail, the more successful we will be Vintage (used) Hab will be available for donations to BrainUp – if you have anything to donate please do. 100% of hashcash and Hab Fair proceeds will go to BrainUp https://brainup.ngo/
