Ballsalotapus, Virtually Hung, Cum In My Assfault & Just Do Me Slowly invite you to the Seventh Chinese New Year Hash commemorating the Lunar New Year and start of 4708, the Year of the Tiger. We will be running in and around Chicago’s Chinatown on February 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

Before the Hash, go to the Chinese New Year Parade, which runs through the middle of Chinatown and includes marching bands, floats, lion teams, a 100′ Mystical Dragon, and Miss Friendship Ambassador (HELLO MISS AMBASSADOR!) .

Almost every other hash of the year you pay $8 bucks for beer? Here, $8 gets you a SPECIAL VALENTINE’S DAY TRAIL, PERSONALIZED EVENT TAG (only w/ RSVP), GREAT FOOD, GIVE AWAYS, (free) RAFFLE PRIZES and, of course, shitty trail and BEER!

To recap:

WHO: YOU!
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: RSVP by 2/9/10 if you want a personalized name tag. Otherwise, just show up!
PRE-LUBE: Attend the Chinese New Year Parade – 12:30 p.m. (uncoordinated) w/ most honored hashers.
HASH: 2:00 p.m.

ADDRESS: 1750 S. Union (Corner of 18th Street and Union, one block east of Halsted)
HASH CASH: $8 bucks
PARKING: Do not park on 17th Street (residents only – you will be ticked, or maybe even towed) Park on Halsted, or slab adjacent to the bar.

Environmentally-Friendly Public Transit ?
From the Lincoln Park/Lakeview “Green Zone”: Red Line to Fullerton, hoof it a block East to Halsted and grab the Halsted #8 bus South to 18th Street, hoof it a block East to Union and 1/2 block North on Union to the bar.

From Wicker Park/Bucktown: Blue Line to Grand, hoof it a block East to Halsted and grab the Halsted #8 bus South to 18th Street, hoof it a block East to Union and 1/2 block North on Union to the bar.

Driving ?
Hop into your hooptie and schlep your sled to Union between 17th place and 18th Street. Union is the North-South street one block East of Halsted. I believe there is an exit off the Dan Ryan for 18th Street just South of the Loop.

DO NOT PARK ON 17TH STREET. It is resident-only, and you will suffer the consequences.
Otherwise, there is street parking on Halsted, 18th Street, Union, etc., but it could be tight before 1:00 p.m. There is a church across the street, and they have services at 10:30a.m. and Noon. They also have one at 9:00 a.m. in case any of you want to be forgiven in advance for anything that you might do later. They use the lot at the southeast corner of 18th and Union, which absorbs most of the parking. But they do overflow onto the streets. I would expect them to vacate the area before 1:00 p.m.

Hare(s): Fuji, Lifa and Super Stuff’Her
Venue: Party Central Skydeck – 933 W Wolfram St, rooftop (go up the back stairs) just Northeast of the Diversey Brown Line station

Just like we do every year for Memorial Day and Labor Day, we move the regular hash to Sunday to allow the holiday Monday for recovery time!!!

Your hares promise spectacular trail and beautiful weather here in the heart of the Lincoln Park “Green Zone” and a blowout postparty that will involve serious grilled foodstuffs and keg(s) on the SkyDeck! While not historically as much of a “foody affair” as Memorial Day, Labor Day Hash has devolved over the years into more of a totally off-the-hinges Category Five Drinkstravaganza!

As a tribute to Labor Day, for those still standing we will be holding a hash-only Summer Outdoor Movie night on the SkyDeck after the hash as the HD projector and 110″ diagonal screen showing the Mike Judge classic “Office Space”.

From Wicker Park/Bucktown: Blue Line to Belmont. Cut 1/2 block South to Barry and either hoof it like six blocks West to Milwaukee or hop the aforementioned Belmont #77 bus to Hamlin, as described above, if you’re in a lazy kinda mood.

Driving ?
Hop into your hooptie and cruise to just SE of Belmont & Milwaukee. Parking is ludicrously plentiful in Avondale and you may even be able to score a space in the restaurant’s lot out back. As Milwaukee is a diagonal street, the lot is kinda oddly-shaped in a sorta trapezoidal way..
