Chicago Hash House Harriers – Our beer stop for the marathon racists

Venue: At the corner, or slightly north of 31st St. & Indiana Ave.

What is this?:  We hand out small cups of beer to runners in the Chicago Marathon.

How do I get there?:  Green line to 35th-Bronzeville-ITT, Red line to Sox 35th, or Rock Island District Metra if you’re feeling freaky.

What do I bring?: Bring a case of cheap beer and some small (~5 oz.) paper cups. Some ice would be useful as well.

What do I do afterwards?: Our regular CH3 hash run will begin at 2 o’clock at TBD

Information from the organizer:

Chicago Marathon Beer Stop: Sunday, Oct 12, 2025. This is close to the Green Line 35th St stop.

Get up early and support all the marathon runners by handing out BEER! There will be a hash afterward so that you can earn your beer too.
Horn-E claims to have rigorously scouted this spot, so let’s see whether the old man’s still got it. Stay tuned to the event in case we move locations.
Hare a trail that’ll make the marathoners jealous! Step up and be the chaos you wish to see in the world.
Bring a case of cheap beer and some small (~5 oz.) paper cups. Some ice would be useful as well. Parking and shops abound.

From the Hare: Our last Monday trail is unofficially upon us and we’re going out with a bang, well, a squirt.
This labor day trail will test your survival skills and competitive nature since we’ll all be playing a game of assassin on trail.
Trail will be a pub crawl with at least three stops. Everyone will start with a life and a water gun, there will be multiple trails laid, all true, with plenty of opportunities to claim a life or have yours taken away.

The rules of Hash-sassin:
The goal is to be the hound with the most hits by the end of trail. There are three true trails to follow from the start location, all trails lead to the same BN. Each hound is given a name of their first target, you may not look at your targets name until you are out of the safe zone, the safe zones are in the park at start, once you have passed the BN at a bar stop (within a block of the bars) and absolutely no use of water propulsion devices inside of bars. The trails will cross and give you an opportunity to find your target. Your water propulsion device is the only way to successfully make a hit. Once you have taken out your target you will claim their life (cheap bead necklace), just their life though, if your target has made 4 hits, then they keep those 4 as proof of the sneaky work they’ve done. You will also take your targets next hit, meaning they hand over the card they are carrying and that becomes your next target.
If you have been eliminated, sucks to suck, enjoy trail, mess with people, protect your friends if you have them, or just make your way to the next bar and drank.
